The last few days found us glued on the TV screen trying to absorb all the information about what is happening to Greece...to our country. I am not gonna get into any political discussions or opinions because the only thing I am going to achieve is aggravating some people and pleasing others, and I think we already have enough of this as it is. Just look at Facebook or any other social media and you will know what I am talking about. Our opinions are to ourselves. However, feelings can be shared so I have to say that I am worried, scared, and as an expat I have to deal with all the different comments other expats share with me that sometimes anger me, sometimes make me sad and sometimes I have to admit they are really funny. But as an expat I have the luxury of not dealing with the actual problems people in Greece are facing. Therefore, I cannot have a well formed opinion. I will, soon enough though, because I am going there in a couple of days. This is our last blog from UAE and we will continue from Greece where our plan was to take you to a culinary trip there, and we will! It is going to be an interesting two months there. I will leave you with some lines from a famous poet Odysseas Elytis which are romantic and not realistic but provide hope no matter what you believe:
"If Greece is entirely destroyed an olive tree, a vine and a boat will remain. They are enough to rebuild it from the ashes." Odysseas Elytis Kali Oreksi everybody! Dia, Kostas and Tony © All right reserved Greek your food 2019
